"Ethical Standards of Practice Across Clinical Populations"
Eve Loren Wedeen, MA, ATR-BC, LPAT, LPCC

Course Objectives:

  • Distinguish between ethics, morality, values, rules and laws as it informs ethical decision making and practice.
  • Learn the value of organization and proper documentation to minimize liability and ensure quality care and safety for clients.
  • Identify similarities and differences in ethical practice between intellectually disabled and nonintellectually disabled clients and unique clinical populations.
  • Increase understanding of participation in health care systems while maintaining ethical principles.
  • Discuss and provide peer supervision for clinicians dealing with challenging cases that are not clearly addressed in the professional codes of ethics. All clients discussed in case examples must have all identifying information protected.
